Sehr gut gemachtes Video mit Liam Morgan, der hier einige schöne Lines zieht. Das ganze vor der perfekten Kulisse von San Francisco. Inszeniert von Dustin Damron und Travis Hoffman. Mehr geht nicht.

Hier ein kleiner Tribut an Mark "Gonz" Gonzales, der, Anfang der 90er, als Innovator des Streetskatings galt und außerdem eine "heimliche Legende" ist (Zitat stammt von jemanden, der sich auskennt). Ich hatte Gonzales übrigens schon mal letztes Jahr hier, wo er mir auch schon - neben seinen Skills - mit seiner extravaganten Persönlichkeit imponierte.

Im ersten Clip ist schön zu erkennen, mit welchem Speed Gonzales durch die Straßen von San Francisco fährt. Ebenfalls sind erste Anleihen zum Downhill zu sehen, z.B. die Footbrake. Wahnsinn!

Im zweiten Clip ist der "epicly later'd" Mark Gonzales neben dem Skaten auch beim Briefmarken (WTF?!) kaufen zu sehen. Funny stuff!

Für den dritten Clip zitiere ich Gonz himself:

Skateboarding is about having fun!

Und das sieht man hier ganz deutlich :-)

Abec11 präsentiert hier ein ziemlich rasantes Video, welches vorwiegend tolle Slides zeigt. Kein Wunder, denn Fernando Yuppie ist mit am Start. Geskatet wird in NorCal in und um San Francisco. Interessant ist dabei auch die Herkunft des Videonamens: "Hella BroDown". Bevor ihr lange rätselt, hier ist die Erklärung:

Hella (Intensifier) Originating from the streets of San Francisco. Contraction of "Hell of a" or "Hell of a lot [of]", commonly used to describe "a lot of something" or "something really good" : There's hella beer in that fridge downstairs ...

BroDown (Noun) A gathering of like-minded male youths between the ages of "born" and "still breathing" who are down for a good time. Basically a BroDown is when friends get together to shred and hang out : There was a bro-down showdown slide comp on Loretta Street last week ...

More surprises. A reel labeled "Alameda 1958" happened to feature quite a few urban scenes set in San Francisco. This footage features only my grandfather; both behind and in front of the camera. Preceding this piece of film was a document of his travel there; aboard a Navy Aircraft. That will be posted soon.

Einer meiner Träume ist ja nochmal durch San Fran zu fahren - dieses Mal dann aber auf einem Longboard (eigentlich wäre es dann sogar das 2. Mal, aber beim 1. Mal konnte ich gerade auf dem Gerät stehen). Die Neigungen der Straßen sind zwar wahrscheinlich mörderisch, aber da muss man ich dann wohl durch...

Hier ein ganz toller Clip von den Sunset Sliders: Zombies & Longboarding in San Fran! Es geht eigentlich nicht besser ;-)
 

A Legion of Zombie Slayers congregated atop the scenic sunset setting of Grand View Park awaiting their opportunity to hold back the horrific hordes of the undead.  For this day was fit for the Rapture as predicted by Family Radio host and now multi-millionaire Harold Camping.  The task was straightforward – seek, destroy, enjoy…BBQ.  In this Zombie Apocalypse Style Death Race to the beach the objective is to hunt down all Zombies and successfully complete the tasks necessary to thwart their brain eating desires.  Some Zombies needed to see big slides with axes, some needed smelly hippie jumps and still others required you to get barreled, get air then enjoy ice cream.  This maze of mutilation culminated in a celebratory BBQ at the body burning pits on Ocean beach.  There, two teams were awarded first place – one for successfully completing all tasks and another for having the all-around raddest time.  Some comical debates were held in which the only decider was an all out rock-paper-scissors battle-to-the-death.  The winning teams’ public safety efforts (Zombie slaying) were well rewarded in the form of AMAZING Zombie head trophies, urethane products from around the globe, fresh wood from our local awesome companies, Imaginary trucks of precision fame and smiles to last a lifetime.  As we watched the sun set over the California coastline we reflect on the day, deciding shredding with homies was the best way to spend the last few hours on Earth…
    Luckily for us, Harold Camping’s prediction was off by 5 months so Sunset Sliders will be continuing the charge of rad monthly events – July has some slippery slalom in store so grab some grippers and get some!

Die Straßen von San Francisco sind ja extrem steil. Hatte da immer richtig Respekt vor. ICH wäre niemals auf die Idee gekommen diese Straßen herunter zu fahren. Kody Noble, jedenfalls, hat da keine Berührungsprobleme. Wirklich sehr aufregendes Video!

Arwf! San Francisco ist einfach eine super tolle Stadt. Die sogn. "Bay Area" wunderschön, wenn auch immer etwas frisch und windig. Sehr gut auch, wenn man die Zeit die man (dort) hat, sinnvoll nutzt indem man ein kewles Video dreht. Thumbs up!

Some of the tricks we couldn't show you just yet, but here are the ones we can! Pretty amazing how much stuff these guys can pack into 72 hours, especially when you factor in eating, sleeping, driving, getting kicked out of spots, and visiting Chinatown for souvenirs. Good times!

Der junge Schwede (SCNR!) Martin Söderström hat seinen Sponsor gewechselt (von NS-Bikes zu Specialized). Deshalb wurde er von seinem neuen Sponsor nach Kalifornien eingeladen, um ein paar Bikes zu testen und so. Unter "und so" fällt auch dieses Video, was bei seinem Besuch entstanden ist. Ab 3 min gibt's ein paar pretty awesome Tricks zu sehen. Ab ca. 4 min wird dann auch in San Francisco gefahren und gefilmt.

NIce! Zwar sehr kurzes, dafür gelungenes Timelapse-Video von einer Graffiti-Installation in einem Büro in San Francisco. In so einem Büro würde ich auch gerne arbeiten. Wird auch Zeit für mich langsam mal in Stimmung von SF zu kommen, weil ich gestern gerade einen Flug dorthin gebucht habe. Yeah!
